Stella & Quentin
“A French couple is arriving on Tuesday night.” THANK GOODNESS, Jo and I both thought - we were desperate for some potential friends. With weird vibes and odd people, so far Emu Park had not been the great East Coast destination we had hoped for.
Thankfully, Stella and Quentin arrived. The couple met in Paris, Stella working in visual merchandising and Quentin in social media management. Needing a break from the city and their jobs, they decided to spend a year in Australia with a stop in Bangkok on their way back to France in January 2020.
Starting in Adelaide, they’ve made their way up to the East Coast, working at HelpX homes along the way to save money on accommodation and food.
Stella and Quentin decided to take the job offer Paul had originally offered to me and Jo, but communicated directly with the employer. A fair was coming to Rockhampton and then over the next month and a half would stop at cities up to Cairns. It was exactly the path the two wanted to take and allowed 2-4 days of work a week with the rest open to travel and explore.
Stella worked with a frozen ice stand and Quentin took on various jobs depending on what was needed at each show.
Such easy and fun personalities to get along with - the three French were polite enough to speak English when I was around to include me. I’m incredibly grateful for these two arriving when they did and for the continued group chat as we all continue our travels. Keep being you Stella & Quentin!
