Run Ferris Fun
Our paths only crossed for one night in Emu Park, but Ferris’ story fascinated me!
He’s currently on a 3 month journey for ocean conservation - running on water from Byron to Cairns. I had no idea what “running on water” meant before meeting Ferris…and to be honest I’m still not 100% what it is. But I’ll try to explain what I do know. He has a modified peddle board that is his mode of transportation - image a paddle/surf board with a stand up bike/elliptical.
His goal is to raise money for the Seabin Foundation in order to have seabin’s installed in marinas along the Queensland coast. Check out his gofundme page for even more information.
Ferris relies on coastal communities to support him and contact the next town about his arrival. That’s how he came to stay at Emu Park - a friend contacted the hostel via Facebook and the girl’s managing the place decided to take him in! Such a genuinely nice guy with an energetic, inspiring personality. I’m glad I now can follow along his journey as he continues to follow his dreams and aim to make positive change along the way.
Be you Ferris!
