Tassie Little Family
The Littttttttttle Family. Our catchphrase for the two week trip around Tasmania.
Marina - my first contact with the group and the owner/driver/master of the travel van! A French nurse, photographer, model - Marina came to Australia with the hopes of staying long term. Having completed her first three months at a Tassie dairy farm, she planned a 3 week travel break with the two boys she had met at the Pickled Frog in Hobart during her first few weeks in Tassie.
Enter Charles & Guillaume. Childhood friends who came to Australia only knowing a few English phrases — Hi, Thank You, Please, and Can we rent this apartment? After leaving France, Charles a pastry chef and Guillaume a sommelier, the two got restaurant jobs in Hobart, bought a car to convert to the ultimate road trip vehicle, and saved money. The two plann to road trip from Tasmania to Melbourne to Adelaide to Alice Springs to Darwin and hopefully over to the East Coast.
Maude (or Madi) - a Belgian, crazy for the goon and our navigator/planner/translator extraordinaire. With only 6 months in Australia, she had already seen a TON, an expert at making friends and traversing the Facebook groups to make the best connections.
My French speaking family - the group tried to speak English as much as possible but often reverted back to French to discuss the day’s plans, hiking trails, and meal. We split girls and guys for driving, which helped as Marina and Maude’s English was better than the guys so we could converse more. From incredibly quick hiking paces to cooking inside the tent during a rainy night to photoshoots along the lake in Cradle Mountain, it was a solid adventure crew.
