Emmy

Emmy, Emmy, Emmy.

A Jersey girl with a mix of Aussie in her heart. Fellow American University graduate. Lover of caramel slices, poke bowls, and speakeasy bars. The beauty of a January birthday in the southern hemisphere is transforming what has always been a cold, snowy celebration to a day at the beach.

Emmy did a semester abroad in Brisbane our junior year of college. After hitting a breaking point in the long houred, PR agency world of New York City, she decided to sell her belongings and move around the world to Sydney. Arriving on a Working Holiday Visa, she made quick work finding a job that would sponsor her to stay. She explored the various Sydney neighborhoods through AirBnB stays before landing on Darlinghurst as a homebase.

Due to SUPER UNFORTUNATE circumstances, after 2.5 years in Australia, her company made her department redundant, thus causing Emmy to search and search for a way to stay in the country before ultimately heading back to the States.

Luckily for me, we had a full year together with three glorious Sydney meet-ups. The first for a 29th birthday celebration where we dubbed ourselves with mafia names and personalities. The second a wintry snuggle with attempted dumping and beer nights but settled for ordering in. The third a welcome back for me and a farewell for Emmy, a sharing of Facebook marketplace selling techniques, and the beauty of floor picnics.
