Cynthia & John
Self proclaimed “small, pretend farmers,” John is a senior science teacher and Cynthia has a home office business. With a farm full of cattle, goats, sheep, chicken, and newly acquired alpacas, the two have created a little oasis of bucolic country life. And it wouldn’t be right if I didn’t mention the true ladies of the house - Bindi and Sugar & Spice, the dog and two sassy cats.
Working to become as self sufficient as possible, the cows and goats are milked to make cheese and yoghurt, a new venture into beekeeping has supplied fresh honey, and chickens provide fresh eggs each morning.
Both book lovers, John is a science fiction and fantasy man while Cynthia prefers historical and contemporary fiction. John just purchased a forge which he’s excited to delve into the world of metalworking. Cynthia grew up on a cattle farm and has had farming in her blood since birth. With 4 kids and 14 grandkids, family has kept them busy over the years.
Cynthia and John hosted us for a week, but the small exposure to farm life was enough time to fall in love with the animals (especially the goats!) and enjoy the peacefulness of the countryside.
